Overview

MMG D:ONE is a compact NDI® and USB media player with an HDMI output. It does four jobs:

  • Single source — put any NDI® source on your network full-screen on a display.
  • Quad multiview — watch four sources at once and pick which one you hear.
  • Media player — play video and stills straight from a USB drive.
  • Audio visualiser — turn the screen into a live, beat-reactive visual.

Everything is configured from a browser. There is no app to install and no cloud account.

First picture

  1. Connect HDMI to a display and apply power over USB-C.
  2. Connect Ethernet, or use the built-in WiFi hotspot (see First boot).
  3. Open the address shown on screen in a browser.
  4. Choose a source and press Apply.

First Boot

Out of the box, MMG D:ONE does not need a network, a laptop, or a keyboard.

On first power-up it raises its own WiFi hotspot and paints a scan-to-join QR code onto the HDMI output, along with the device name and address.

  1. Scan the QR code with a phone or tablet.
  2. Accept the prompt to join the device’s network.
  3. The web interface opens automatically.

The QR code clears itself as soon as you choose something to play, so it never gets left on a live screen.

The hotspot is enabled on first boot and can be turned off later from WiFi once the unit is on your own network. Its SSID defaults to the unit’s serial, so several units in the same room never collide.

Joining your network instead

If the unit is already on Ethernet, the holding screen shows its address (e.g. http://192.168.0.112). Type that into a browser on the same network and you are in — no hotspot needed.

The Interface

The interface runs on the device itself. Point any browser at the unit’s address — no port number needed.

Along the bottom you’ll find:

The status bar always shows what is live, at what resolution, along with a volume control.

It updates itself

The interface is pushed live from the device. Sources appearing on the network, a USB drive being plugged in, or a display waking up all show up without refreshing the page.

PIN lock

A PIN can be set under Settings. Until you set one, the interface is open to anyone on the network — which keeps a fresh unit reachable, but means you should set a PIN on any device left on an untrusted network.
